Sander Puri to FCL?

Interesting news on the UEFA.com site

For a while this page announced that Estonian international Sander Puri had signed with FCL.

http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/kind=2/newsid=919259.html

“In August, he decided not to extend his contract at Levadia and, despite an offer from Celtic FC, will look to progress further with Swiss side FC Luzern.”

This text can still be found in the Google search cache. Try this link.

It has now been replaced with:

Player of the Year: Sander Puri (FC Levadia Tallinn)
The midfielder, 21, continued his impressive development with reliable performances for Levadia and the national team and his goal in the 1-0 win against Armenia gave Estonia their first ever FIFA World Cup qualifying win. In August, he decided not to extend his contract at Levadia and, despite interest from a number of clubs, is still pondering his next move.

This is a recent article in Estonian: ‘I was offered a contract, but I will probably not go there’ – in any case that’s what a Google translation makes of this page.

This site also claims Sander has been on a trial at FCL for the last week

Estonian press confirms the trial and estimates the transfer price to be between 90-100k EUR

More on Sander:
The wikipedia page claims that he was twice close to signing with Borussia Dortmund

There is also a video site on Sander. Looks to me that this is something he or his manager might have put together to market his skills to prospective clubs. Whois owner is Sander himself and the domain was registered in June 2009

This youtube video has a collection of very nice plays in a friendly between Estonia and Brazil. Obviously put together to only show his good side but very impressive skills nevertheless.

A 21 year old international who has just been elected player of the season, just can’t beat that! But as usual in these transfer sagas, lots can and will happen so don’t trust anyone unless you read it on the FCL official website…
